Particle boards are a type of engineered wood product that is made by compressing sawdust particles with liquid binders to form sheets for use in construction materials.

There are many different types of particle board available on the market today;

Flakeboard MDF's--a type of composite wood product made from flaked expanded polystyrene (EPS) bonded with melamine resin--is a lightweight product that is more economical than particle board made from hardwood or softwoods.

Although flakeboard mdfs are generally more affordable, they also have fewer advantages over other materials as it does not offer the same durability and strength of either hardwoods or softwoods.

Particle boards can be manufactured in thicknesses between 18 to 50 mm depending on your project needs.

Hard woods typically come in widths up to 720mm with heights of 600-1200mm.

Softwood and flakeboard MDF's are usually manufactured at standard sizes like 1220x2440mm for melamine products, 610x762mm for birch plywood panels and 1350x1875mm for pine flakeboard.

Flakeboard MDF Manufacturing:

Manufacturers will amass the flaked expanded polystyrene flakes in a large pile and then cover them with molten melamine resin to bind them together and provide strength, durability, stability and rigidity.
